The Paris Metro
The easiest and fastest way to get around Paris is undoubtedly the metro. It will allow you to save a lot of time.
Useful information:
• All metro and RER lines run from 5:30 AM to 1:00 AM every day (until 2:00 AM on Fridays, Saturdays, and the eve of public holidays).
• The phone number 3246 provides general transport services for Île-de-France.
• There are two types of tickets: one for traveling within zones 1-3 and another for zones 1-5. The only difference between them is the area you can travel in. The ticket for zones 1-5 also includes the suburbs and the airports Orly and Charles de Gaulle.
• A standard ticket is valid for a single entry and must be kept until exiting the metro.
• The price of a single t+ ticket is €2.50, and a carnet (10 tickets) costs €18. You can buy your ticket directly from the vending machines found in almost every station.
• A tourist-specific option is the Paris Visite, which is available for 1 to 5 consecutive days. Additionally, for children (ages 4 to 11), the Paris Pass fares are discounted.
• To travel to Disneyland Paris, the ticket price (round trip) is €20.
• The ticket price to reach the Palace of Versailles is €24 (round trip).
